DrawScribe is a New Tool for Adobe Illustrator

posted by: Nicholas van der Walle, in Articles / News/ Comments: 1

With the availability of the recently announced Astute Graphics plugin for Adobe Illustrator, DrawScribe, drawing ever-nearer, it is time to introduce the second tool within the new product; Dynamic Sketch.

A few days ago, we introduced its counterpart, the InkScribe tool. Whereas InkScribe replaced the Pen tool and allows for the improved creation of precise vector paths, the Dynamic Sketch tool is all about drawing more naturally in Illustrator.

Replacing the Pencil tool, along with elements of the Blog Brush tool, it also offers so much more. By introducing dynamic attributes such as the accuracy and smoothness of the sketch traces, gesture trimming, intelligent open path joining, the natural drawing process within Illustrator has been changed forever. The Dynamic Sketch tool also makes great use of a graphics tablet such as the Intuos, Bamboo and Cintiq range from Wacom, but is equally accomplished with sketches created using a humble mouse.

For Illustrator CS5+ users, the Dynamic Sketch tool also allows for the creation of Variable Stroke Width paths, adding another dimension to any sketch. By using Adobe’s "Beautiful Strokes Technology” which was introduced in CS5, each sketch retains maximum flexibility for further editing.

When released, the full range of tutorial movies referenced in this movie will be made available.
