Merging meshes

I am working on mandala designs where I need to keep shapes proportional in both their side lengths and angles. Because of the cumbersome nature of illustrators positioning of points in x/y co-ords I've done most of my design in SolidWorks which actually is much easier to draw in that Illustrator, for my purposes, and import to Illustrator then convert to paths then meshes. I mention this because even with Mesh Tormentor those paths/shapes, unless somewhat rectangular change to different shapes than the original path. Although Mesh Tormentor makes it more workable than just using Illustrators mesh tools, and helps in some cases, there is still some difficulty in creating meshes "exactly" as I wish to lay them out. If my design was more of a "painterly" quality this would be no problem as I could simply employ using multiple meshes layored over each other. However, the "strict" graphical representation I need to accomplish is proving to be somewhat limiting. I have had success in breaking down my shapes into smaller preformed paths and in turn meshes, using the mesh tormentor stiching function to combine them. This works in many cases but in others there seems to be no solution. The attached files show a typical attempt to join the meshes but fails to retain the original shape of the two meshes as intended. I have tried using the direct selection tool for selecting only the parts of the mesh which I want to be joined and also Mesh tormentors select vertices/nodes tool, with no difference. I've tried the join mesh tool with its options as well like cntrl and alt, with also no better results. If anyone could suggest a way to use Mesh tormentor differently to get what I want, it would be much appreciated. Thank you.

Note: in the "pre_join-mesh-sample.png" I've seperated/move the 2 meshes apart to show the area between the meshes I want joined. The result in my example doesn't change much no matter how close of apart the meshes are.

I see by uploading files the names have been changed. The first file "1248972" is the desired result I would want. The second with the meshes separated and the last "2983978" the result of using mesh tormentor stitch tool
