How to Create the Letter S in the Shape of a Slinky Toy

In this tutorial we will create letter S in the shape of a slinky toy. For these purposes we will be using the Blend Tool and simple circles. So let's get started!

Step 1

Create a new document. We have to work in RGB color mode.

First, create a background. Take the Rectangle Tool (M) and create a rectangle filled with black color.

Step 2

Now let's create a path that looks like letter S. Take the Ellipse Tool (L) and create a circle with no fill and with a stroke of white color.

Now go to Object > Transform > Move … and set the vertical offset value, which is equal to the diameter of the circle, then click on the Copy button in the dialog box.

Step 3

With the Direct Selection Tool (A) select point A of the upper circle, and then press the Delete key.

Do the same actions with the point B of the lower circle.
