Uneven Space Fill with ColliderScribe2

posted by: Iaroslav Lazunov, in Illustrator Tips / Techniques/ Comments: 0

New Space Fill feature, as you already know from previous articles on our blog, is designed to uniformly fill the container path with other objects. Today we will take a look at another trick that helps to fill the container unevenly, disrupting the strict order of objects. It will certainly enhance the scope of application in your workflow.

Create a container path, for example in the shape of a circle and Filling Art object in the shape of a straight-line segment.

Fill the container with straight line segments by clicking on Make in the Space Fill panel (Window > ColliderScribe > Space Fill Panel).

As you can see, the container is filled uniformly. Our goal is to fill the container unevenly, so click on the Release button in the panel. Now create several objects of arbitrary shape without a fill or stroke. These will be dummy shapes.

Select the container, real shape and dummy shapes, then repeat the filling.
