Although we cannot assign shortcuts to a particular script in the Keyboard Shortcuts dialog box, still there is a little trick which allows you to use keys to run a script. Here you’ll find out how to do it.
When we press Alt/Opt button, we see that some letters in names of the menu became underlined (it works only in Windows).
If you press the letter corresponding to the underlined letter, it will open the necessary menu. Press the button F to open the File menu.
And now to open the submenu Scripts you need to click on the button R.
Pressing the first key of the name of the script will start it. That is, to run the script Random Select you need to use the following key combination Alt/Option + F + R + R. Thus, they shouldn’t be held at the same time, just pressed sequentially. Of course, you might have a situation where you need to use a couple of scripts and their names start from the same letter. In this case you’d better rename the script which you use more often. For example, the script SaveDocsAsPDF could be renamed into 1_SaveDocsAsPDF. And now to start the script press Alt/Option + F + R + 1.
I hope that this little trick will speed up your work process and you won’t need to click on items of multilevel menu with the mouse.
