Tom Whalen is an American illustrator and graphic designer, who likes drawing posters based on his favorite movies and TV-shows. He is originally from Pennsylvania. Above all, Tom is famous for his vintage posters based on Hollywood movies. He began developing his artistic abilities at a young age, in the period of fascination with comic book superheroes, that, of course, influenced his future artworks. I'll never forget watching "the terminator" for the first time at a sleepover sometime around 1984-1985. I was at matt sobolewski's house and i distinctly remember my 4th grade mind being blown by the time travel aspect of the film and my 4th grade heart pumping a mile a minute as i witnessed the relentless nature of arnold's path of destruction through LA. Top all of that off with stan winston's endoskeleton (which, along with his "predator" design will go down as some of my favorite movie monsters ever), and you have a movie that would leave an indelible mark on me as a kid and would inspire me for the rest of my life.

I was infatuated with all things giant and robotic from a very young age, so when transformers came along in 1984, this fourth grader's mind nearly imploded. countless adventures that centered around a battered bumblebee's quest to rid my backyard of starscream once and for all would serve to spark my imagination for a lifetime. I feel very fortunate to once again be able to play in a universe that inspired me so many years ago.
