Imagine if you were able to draw more naturally and intuitively in Adobe Illustrator! Well, anyone who has used the Dynamic Sketch plug-in will know that this has been specifically designed just for this! I’m hoping that you have already experienced using this (if not, download a 14 day free trial now!) Today’s guide aims to speed up your vector workflow with Dynamic Sketch by using keyboard shortcuts. This information, along with the Dynamic Sketch’s instructional product movies, will help you get the most from this extremely effective plug-in!

Sketch mode

Option/Alt — enters into rubberband mode (straight line).

Before pressing on the mouse button:

Shift — enters the “gesture trim” mode (the drawn stroke will always act as a gesture trim).

Shift + Option/Alt If a current “repeat sketch” path exists, this will end the current repeat sketch.

Shift + Option/Alt When clicking on a non-repeat sketch path icon, this makes it a repeat sketch path.

While drawing a sketch path (after the mouse button is down):

Shift — When rubberbanding, this constrains the direction of the straight section to 45-degree angles around the constrain angle.

Define smooth/corner points mode

Option/Alt — Switches between corner and smooth points.
