Error in EPS-8

| I saved my file as EPS-8 and now cannot open it.
It says: "can't open the illegal illustration. The illustration contains an illegal operand. Offending operator: eps_metadata_stream"
Does anyone else see this issue in Illustrator CC? Any help would be appreciated.
(I use Illustrator CC)

| kathy, Can you still open Ai file? If so, try save it in eps8 again?
BTW you should expand all effects and flatten transparency

| jaroslav, thank you!! The is no effects and no transparency in this illustration. I read on couple of sources that it can be a result of using some fonts. But the is no any typing either. Everything is so complicated. I was able to open .ai file, but I do not want this happen again with eps8.

| You can try to outline all the text object or save file in eps10 or epsCS file format.
Why do you need eps8?
Do you use any plug-ins or new Ai features like rounded corners eg.?

| jaroslav, no I did not use plug-ins or new Ai features. I need eps8 for micro stock. I already recreated from an AI file and saved it in eps8. Everything is fine now, but I have no idea what happened the first time. Thank you very much for your kind assistance.

| kathy, You can save file in eps10 for all micro stocks.

I read somewherethat eps8 is a better format because not all buyers have the ability to open
eps10.
I downloadedseveral files yesterday on Shutter and most of the eps8 were rejected (corrupt
or will not open properly).All of the eps10did not have any problems.
So, I guess I have to make a decision in favorof eps10 although there is a risk involved of losing some potential buyers.
