Converting vertex to knot

I was wondering if I am missing something.

After making mesh and selecting all vertexes then pressing the "vertices to knots" command on mesh tormentor, nothing seems to change, since I can still select any point and handles are still there.

I suspect it is because the version of mesh tormentor is not compatible with my version of illustrator?

Using mesh tormentor 0.40.0 with Illustrator from CS2

Any feedback is appreciated.
P.S. I am not trying to accomplish any specific goal at the moment, just working through the commands with the online manual to get to know what the different functions of mesh tormentor can do.
