Only 9 days to go until Euro 2012 kick-off on the 8th of June. The most footie fans are counting these days until Europe’s biggest display of footballing talent graces our screens. On the whole the UEFA Euro’s have been going since 1960 and over the years this rich tournament history has amassed some very interesting facts, statistics and figures. Adidas Tango 12 Official Match Ball of UEFA EURO 2012

Adidas Group CEO Herbert Hainer commented: "The Adidas Tango 12 is a combination of many years of football tradition coupled with extensive player and lab testing to make it the most tested ball Adidas has ever produced.”

Adidas Tango 12 features a series of triangular panels that are thermally bonded together to ensure a true, stable flight path. Covering each panel of the ball is a grip texture which supports boot to ball contact and enhances ball control. Beneath the outer surface of the ball lies a woven carcass and a new bladder for increased air retention and reduced water uptake.

The Adidas Tango 12, which has been developed over a two-year period, underwent two rigorous types of testing - qualitative player testing, which was conducted across eight different countries, using players, federations and clubs from both elite and grass roots football, and quantitative lab testing, which concluded that the Adidas Tango 12 meets and exceeds all FIFA Approved Standards for an Official Match Ball making it the most tested ball Adidas has ever produced. Euro 2012 is set to take over the lives of many in June, and leave many a partner ignored for a couple of weeks, as we watch one European football team reign victorious and spend weeks discussing the inevitable moment when England leave the competition. Whilst many football fans often think a trip to Poland and the Ukraine to see Euro 2012 itself will be beyond their budget. However, a few less takeaways will leave you with enough cash to make the trip, so we have created this infographic for you to enjoy the facts and figures behind Euro 2012.

WARSAW - KYIV

Euro 2012 venues - Ukraine Donbass Arena

The new stadium with 50 000 seats in the center of Donetsk - the first in Eastern Europe, designed and built according to the highest standards of UEFA. After receiving the accreditation of UEFA, the arena will go down in history as the first stadium of "Elite" Class in Eastern Europe. Among the eight arenas in Ukraine and Poland, which are preparing to take the final of European Championship 2012, "Donbass Arena" was first commissioned in August of 2009. With a capacity of 52,518 spectators, the Stadium hosts FC Shakhtar Donetsk matches and will host some matches in Euro 2012.The initial estimated cost of the project was USD 250m. USD 30m has been allocated to set up a recreational park around the Stadium. The final cost of the project will reach USD 400m.

Euro 2012 venues - Ukraine Lviv Arena

Arena Lviv is a football specific stadium in Lviv, Ukraine. It is one of the eight UEFA Euro 2012 venues, where it will host three of the group-stage games. According to the official plans, the stadium has a total seating capacity of 34,915. It has also been the new home field of FC Karpaty Lviv since 10 December 2011.
