Final Image Preview
In today’s tutorial we’ll be working with our new Texturino plug-in, which makes it quick and easy to work with bitmap textures with a panel and annotation system. This gives us the opportunity to finish vector artworks directly in Adobe Illustrator without using bitmap editor. I hope you like it!
Tutorial Assets
The following assets were used during the production of this tutorial:
Step 1
Run Adobe Illustrator and create a new document (Cmd / Ctrl + N), set the required sizes of an artboard, and choose RGB color mode…
Create a black rectangle corresponding to the size of an artboard, and three circles, which will set the locations of celestial bodies. The color of these circles is not important at this time.
Step 2
In the future we will be using Texturino for the convenient use of textures directly in Adobe Illustrator. Therefore, all the bitmap textures should be prepared in a certain way. They have to be in PNG format. Open each of the textures mentioned above in bitmap editor, such as Photoshop, and save it in the required format.
Open the Texture panel of Texturino (Window> Texturino> Texture panel) or click on the icon of the tool in the Tools panel, which will lead to the automatic opening of the panel. Wow! Nice improvement.
Click on the Import New Textures button in the Panel and select all 4 textures in the opened dialog box, then click on the Import button.
Step 3
Now we can see the textures in the drop-down list of the Texture panel.
You can also manage all of the textures in the Texturino Texture Manager dialog box, which opens in the fly-out menu of the Texture panel.
Select the circle in the lower left corner, select the desired texture and click on Add a new texture button in the Texture panel.
